In the Kitchen: Butter Bell

A favorite thing in our kitchen--it lets you always have fresh, soft butter available when you need it. This is such an integral part of our day, that we own two: one to use while the other is waiting to be washed. Whenever we finish one off, we just get out a new stick of butter and set it on the counter for an hour or so. Then it's ready to stuff into the clean butter bell, which is perfectly sized for one stick's worth. We are so spoiled to having soft butter for spreading, measuring, buttering baking pans, etc. The trick is to change the water every day or two to keep it fresh. We do this first thing in the morning when we get butter for breakfast.
